NEW ELLENTON, SC - Nelson Daniel Price, 87 passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, December 14, 2015 at his residence. Visitation will be Wednesday December 16th from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Shellhouse –Rivers Funeral Home in Aiken SC The funeral will be held Thursday December 17th at 1:00pm at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home on Pine Log Road, with Burial services to be held at Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken. The Rev. Robert Reeves will officiate Mr. Price was born to the late Daniel Franklin and Carlie Lewis Price of the Lexington/Gilbert area, where he lived until joining the Navy during World War II, at the age of 17. Upon completing his tour of duty he met and married his wife, Dora Marie Farish Price, of 45 years, who preceded him in death, along with a son, Daniel Franklin Price (USMC). He was a control room operator with DuPont at SRS for 32 ½ years, and a member of St Paul United Methodist Church in New Ellenton SC He is survived by two daughters, Dora Jane Price Campbell, and Sandra Kay Price DuBose, one Son-in-Law, Marvin Milton DuBose, 5 Grandchildren, Julie Campbell-Kent, Jessie Kent, Christopher Allen Campbell, Jenny Schatzberg Campbell, and Heather Lynn DuBose, 4 Great Grandchildren, Olivia Shatzberg, Issabella Campbell, Mathew Muszall, and Morgan Wrizley and Mike Strauss, Laura Strauss, Courtney Strauss, Mary Strauss, and Kinzie Allen, who he also held in his heart as his grand, and great grandchildren. He was an active member of the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and Jamil Shrine Temple 32nd degree Scottish rite, Aiken Shrine Club, He was proud to hold the record for making the most recorded trips transporting children to and from the Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital for treatment out of the Aiken Shrine Club. This was due to his love of the miraculous help that was provided to the children there. He helped others as a way of remembering the people who had helped in his early life after the loss of his parents.
