Garland A. Flippin

AIKEN, SC – GARLAND A. FLIPPIN passed peacefully into eternal life on December 19, 2015. A twenty year resident of Aiken, he loved his adopted town and gave back to the community by volunteering for Meals on Wheels. This was one of his favorite pastimes and he attempted to leave each person with a smile or compliment. He was born in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and grew up in Muskogee, OK. A lifelong career with Brockway Glass, then Owens-Brockway allowed him travel extensively in the US and Puerto Rico. Establishing residences in five states fostered his outgoing personality and established lifelong friendships. Garland Flippin is survived by his wife, Nancy Flippin of Aiken, and two daughters, Susan and Terri Flippin of Washington, PA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of choice.
