October 16, 1919 — December 22, 2015

AIKEN, SC – SALLY PIPER GREGORY, 96, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center. A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Mrs. Gregory was a daughter of the late Charles Grady and Hattie Reece Piper. She retired from Graniteville Company as a supervisor in the Research Department. She was a very active member of Aiken’s First Baptist Church where she taught the Truth Seekers Sunday School Class for 40 years. She was also a member of the Roundtable Missions Group and served on the Nominating Committee. She was a former member of the Country Gardners Garden Club and served on the Garden Council of Aiken. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra G. Evans (Howard), Aiken; two sons, James K. Gregory, Columbia and Alan D. Gregory, Aiken; six grandchildren, Greg Evans (Elizabeth), Rob Evans (Caren), James Gregory (Andrea), Charles Gregory, Doug Gregory (Tasha) and Amy Weiss (Chuck); nine great-grandchildren, David, Paul, John and Catherine Evans, Zachary Perez, Natalie, Palmer, Madison and Abigail Gregory; a sister-in-law, Nadine Gregory, Aiken; a brother-in-law, Bill Prince, Edgefield and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gregory was preceded in death by two sisters, Erlene Prince and Ruth Timmerman and a brother, John W. Piper. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, December 26th at 11 o’clock at First Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Fred W. Andrea III officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service. Inurnment will be in the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium. Memorial contributions may be directed to Aiken’s First Baptist Church, 120 Chesterfield St., N, Aiken, SC 29801. The family would like to express their gratitude to Trinity on Laurens, Pepper Hill Nursing Center and Agape Hospice for their care and support.
