AIKEN, SC – PAMELA ANN PROCTER OATES, 62, died Friday, December 25, 2015 at her residence. Born in Salisbury, Austria, Pamela was a daughter of Sarah Fowler Procter and the late Arthur Miller Procter. She lived in Aiken since 1955 and taught French at South Aiken High School. Pam received Master of Arts in Teaching (French) from USC where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received the Golden Apple Award from WJBF Television in 1999 and was in Who's Who for American Teachers. Pamela was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. She enjoyed tennis and was a member of the Woodside Tennis Club. She was gracious, kind and dedicated teacher and lady. Surviving in addition to her mother Sarah, includes her brother, Arthur Miller Proctor, Jr., Aiken. A memorial service will be Monday morning, December 28th at 11 o’clock at St. John’s United Methodist Church with The Rev. Dr. Tim McClendon officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. John’s United Methodist Church, 104 Newberry St., NW, Aiken, SC 29801 or Savannah River Cancer Foundation, PO Box 3694, Aiken, SC 29802.
