Asa Jones Cooke

AIKEN, SC – Mr. Asa Jones Cooke, 84, died April 10, 2009. A memorial service will be announced. Mr. Cooke was born in Franklinton, NC, a son of the l ate Joseph Robert and Katherine Jones Cooke. He was a resident of Aiken since 2004. He was an electrician, attended Cedar Creek Church, and formerly managed Freemans Discount Tackle in Moorehead City, NC. He served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. Survivors include a daughter, Marie (Bill) Jones, Aiken; a son, William R. (Frankie) Cooke, Glen Burnie, MD; three grandchildren, Jennifer Arbaugh, Robert Cooke and Tiffany Stewart; four great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, his wife, Gertrude Wendell Cooke preceded him in death.
