Beech Island, SC – Mr. James Brinkley Adkinson, Jr.63, died Friday April 10, 2009. Funeral services will be held privately. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Adkinson was a lifelong resident and auto mechanic in Aiken County. He is survived by his close companion, Mattie Dewitt; a daughter, Mellisa Adkinson, Aiken; three grandchildren, Kalee Tharp, Kevin Leclerc, Taylor Bond; great grandson, Douglas James Mayes, III; mother, Ruby Bond Adkinson; sister, Minnie Forrest, Maryland; brother Ronnie Adkinson, Beech Island, Gerald Adkinson, Aiken; former wife, Mary Barker. He was preceded in death by his father James Brinkley Adkinson, Sr.; daughter Michelle Diane Adkinson and brother Randy Adkinson.
