NEW ELLENTON, SC – E. J. LINDSAY, 85, husband of the late Janice Lilly Lindsay, died Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Hinton, WV, E.J. was a son of the late James Edmond and Eva Lilly Lindsay. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He lived in Aiken County since 1954 and retired from the Savannah River Site. E. J. was a member of Pineview Baptist Church in New Ellenton and was a former Little League Baseball Coach.
Survivors include his son, Randy K. Lindsay (Darlene), Aiken; a loving sister, Lottie Mae Harvey (Vernon), Gallipolis, OH and a brother-in-law, Clyde DeHart, New Ellenton. He is also greatly loved by several nieces and nephews, both biological and many adopted who are thankful for the life experiences they learned from “Uncle Jim”. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, E. J. was preceded in death by a sister, Rose DeHart.
The family will receive friends Wednesday morning, February 17th beginning at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11 o’clock at the funeral home with The Revs. William Eaves and Phillip Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe DeHart, Wayne DeHart, Mark Harvey, Brad Harvey, Kevin Lilly and Joshua Yon.
His family is very thankful for the professional and tender, loving care he received from the Emergency Department and 5th floor staff at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
