AIKEN, SC - Lenore Ledbetter Ward, of Aiken, entered into Heavenly rest on Saturday evening, February 20, 2016. She was born in Galesburg, IL in 1927, to the late Shep Randle and Bernice Cunningham Ledbetter. She was married for 63 wonderful years to her “Honey”, the late James William Ward. She had resided in State College, MS and Cambridge, MA before moving to Aiken in 1952. She taught business subjects at LBC High School in Langley from 1967 to 1980. She was a proud member of St. John’s United Methodist Church of Aiken for over 50 years. Her true pride and joy was her loving family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her grandson, Douglas William Ward. She is survived by her three sons, Jamie (Melaine) Ward of Barboursville, WV, Mark (Tina) Ward of Chanute, KS, and Roger (Mary) Ward of Aiken, seven grand children and four great-grandchildren.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift to St. John’s UMC of Aiken, 104 Newberry St. SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (funeral reception fund) would be appreciated.
