Sidney Lee Steadman, Jr.

AIKEN, SC – SIDNEY LEE “DUKE” STEADMAN, Jr., 75, husband of the late Barbara Joe Stokes Steadman, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his residence. A native and life-long resident of Aiken, Duke was a son of the late Sidney Lee and Sarah Powell Steadman, Sr. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from SCE&G. Duke was a loving father and great-grandfather and he loved fishing. Survivors include a daughter, Sabrina Traci Steadman (Jimmy); two sons, Shaun JoeLee Steadman and Stuart Russell Steadman, all of Aiken; six grandchildren, Ryan Thomas, Sydney Hallman, Sierra Steadman, Bonnie Steadman, Shauna “Cassy” Steadman, Chloe Steadman; two sisters, Brenda Stribling, Riedsville, GA and Sarah Aldridge, Swansea, SC; a close family friend, Jeff Wiley and his pet Chihuahua, Chico. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at the funeral home with The Rev. Eddie Penland officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Robbie Willing, David Willing, Johnny Chapman, Chris Chapman, Chris Clark and Billy Chapman.
