AIKEN, SC - Sarah Hart Moore passed away surrounded by her family on February 28th, 2016 at the age of 67. Sarah is survived by her adoring husband Ralph P. Moore (Aiken, SC); her loving daughters Melissa Bonafonte (Ralph) (Miami, Fl) and Katy Hartnett (Willie) Aiken, SC, and son Steve Moore (Salt Lake City, UT); her grandchildren Sophia Bonafonte, Rafi Bonafonte, Ainsley Moore, Jameson Moore, Winfield Hartnett; her brothers Benson Hart (Pittsboro, NC), and John Hart (New York City, NY), and sister Hannah Jones (Pittsboro, NC).  She is preceded in death by her father and mother John Hart and Gertrude Fox Hart of Hudson, Ohio.  Sarah was born on December 11, 1948 in Hudson, Ohio to John and Gertrude Hart. Sarah attended and was graduated from the Laurel School for Girls in Cleveland, Ohio.  In her senior year there she was presented at the Akron, Ohio Cotillion where she and her father, John N. Hart, led the procession of debutants in the Grand March. She then enrolled in the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial and Administration School in the Barbizon Plaza Hotel in Manhattan, New York.   She received a degree in Political Science from The University of Arizona and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. In her senior year she was elected the head of student self-government and, along with the President of the University, she led the academic procession in the stadium of the University of Arizona. Afterword, she married Ralph P. Moore, the love of her life and the father of her three children, in 1971. They moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she became a provisional and later a regular member of the Junior League of Las Vegas.  Subsequently, they moved to Concord-Walnut Creek, California.  She transferred her Junior League membership there and became a Sustaining Member of the Junior League.  Sarah and Ralph moved to Windsor, Colorado (near Fort Collins) where she served as a volunteer for the Board of the Windsor Library and helped with fundraising efforts for the Library. Later, they moved to Aiken, South Carolina, to be near her daughter, Katy, son-in-law, Willie Hartnett, and grandson, Win. In her last selfless act on earth, Sarah was an organ donor.  A Requiem Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Old St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 203 Park Ave SE, Aiken, SC 29801 with the Reverend Art Dalupang celebrant.
