Raymond Harvey Fulmer, Sr.

December 8, 1931 — March 10, 2016

AIKEN – Mr. Raymond Harvey Fulmer, Sr., 84, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Aiken, Mr. Fulmer was a son of the late N.B. and Mary Day Fulmer. He was a member of the Aiken Masonic Lodge #156, and a proud mechanic his entire life. A friend of Mr. J.D. Lever, Harvey always looked up to and admired him. Mr. Lever thought the same of Mr. Fulmer and his good friend, George Rabon. The two of them served as pallbearers at his funeral service, and felt honored to do so. Mr. Fulmer was proud of a statement once made by Mr. Lever equating his knowledge of mechanics to the equivalent of a college degree. He knew a lot of mechanics, and Mr. Fulmer was the best. Mr. Fulmer is survived by his son, Raymond Harvey (Regina) Fulmer, Jr., Aiken; grandchildren, Christopher H. (Charlene) Whittle, Dusty Fulmer, Ramey H.(Shelley) Fulmer, Cole Fulmer; great grandchildren, Christopher Whittle, Shelby Ann Fulmer, Courtney E. Fulmer, Dryth R. Fulmer, Caroline Elizabeth Fulmer; sisters, Eleanor (Carl) Craig, Graniteville, Jean (Willie) Thomas, Aiken; brother, Edward E. (Glenora) Fulmer, Aiken, close friend, George Rabon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Anne Blondell Fulmer; son, Neal Fulmer; grandson, Rhett Harvey Fulmer; great granddaughter, Carly Whittle The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Reverend Taylor Wells officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will then receive friends in the Family Life Center. Mr. Fulmer’s remains will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Ramey Fulmer, Dusty Fulmer, Christopher Whittle, Lee Edward Fulmer, Glenn Craig, Chris Dennis. Honorary pallbearers will be the Kings Men Sunday School class, and lifelong friends, Mr. George Rabon and nephew Mark Thomas.
