AIKEN - Elisabeth “Lisa” Chesser Hosang, 63, of Aiken, SC, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 20, 2016.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 24, at 1:00 at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church with the Reverend Grant Wiseman officiating. Those wishing to speak with the family may attend a reception in the Stevenson-McClelland building, immediately following the service.
Lisa was born in Aiken, SC to the late Doris Williams and Richard Kenneth Chesser of Montgomery, Alabama. Lisa was a graduate of Aiken High School and attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia and Aiken.
Lisa was married to J. Michael “Mike” Hosang on September22, 1979. They were married for 36 years.
Lisa was a successful businesswoman and Realtor who excelled at introducing newcomers to the history and charm of Aiken. She loved reading and was an aspiring writer. Her personality was larger than life, and she had a laugh that was distinct and infectious. She enjoyed horseback riding throughout her life and was a great lover of animals. Lisa took special interest in the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare and Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS). The Hitchcock Woods Foundation and Aiken Land Conservancy were also very important to her.
Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Mike; brothers, Richard Chesser (Susie) and Michael Chesser of Aiken, SC; brother-in-law, David Hosang of Aiken, SC; niece, Catherine Chesser Woods (Scott) of Greenville, SC; nephew, Jake Chesser of Fukui Prefecture, Japan; and great nephews Greyson and Stewart Woods of Greenville, SC.
