AUGUSTA, GA – REITA LOUISE CALLAWAY BALL, 64, entered into rest Sunday, May 10, 2009 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Platt’s Funeral Home, 337 North Belair Rd., Evans, GA with The Rev. C. W. Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Belleview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Platt’s Funeral Home, N. Belair Rd., Evans, GA. Born in Glen Alum, WV, Reita was a daughter of the late Richard B. and Lake Browning Callaway. She retired from BellSouth, and was a Baptist. Mrs. Ball was a graduate of Gilbert High School, Gilbert, WV and was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers. She spent the first 18 years of her married life as an Army wife. Survivors include her beloved husband, Raymond E. Ball, a son, Raymond E. Ball, Jr, a daughter, Robyn L. Patterson, both of Martinez, GA her sisters, Linda G. Denton, Lusby, MD, Kathy Johnson, Chicago, IL and Betty Callaway, Gilbert, WV, four sisters-in-law, Lou Callaway, Wharncliffe, WV, E. Joan Klinfelter, Ormond Beach, FL, Linda Jo Peterson, Jacksonville, FL and Nancy Depris, Grey, TN, two brothers-in-law, David Smith, Newberg, MD and Joe Denton, Lusby, MD, and three granddaughters, Alicia Rodriguez, Victoria Bowles and Jessica Patterson, all of Martinez, GA, and numerous loving and wonderful nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, James Callaway all from Wharncliffe, WV and her sister. Wanda C. Callaway Smith of Newberg, MD.
