Reushe Elizabeth Harley Stokes

AIKEN - Reushe Harley Stokes passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be at Millbrook Baptist Church on Monday, May 9 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. Phillip Dunn and Rev. Bill Howard officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Graveside services will be private. Born in Kannapolis, N.C. Reushe was the wife of Evan Stokes and the daughter of Peggy R. Piesch & the late Wm. A Piesch. After graduating from Aiken High she attended the University of S.C., and later married the late Ronald Harley. They moved to Hilton Head Island where Reushe worked as an Interior Designer for many years. She was a very artistic person & they loved to travel & see the world. They had three children & were very active in their lives. In 1991 the family moved to Aiken where a few years later, Reushe became a single mom due to the passing of her husband. She then began a career as the owner of the Peach Tree Specialty Shoppe & loved to do all the decorating and talk with the customers. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister. Survivors include her husband, C. Evan Stokes, a daughter, Natalie Harley, Aiken, a son Jeremy (Emily) Harley, Lexington, SC, two grandchildren, Katelyn and Jackson Harley, two sisters, Alison Piesch, North Augusta, SC, and Tracey Gronde, Myrtle Beach, SC and a brother, Timothy Piesch, Aiken. Reushe was preceded in death by her daughter, Whitney Harley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Mothers Against Drunk Driving, 421 Mission Ct., Irmo, SC 29063.
