AIKEN, SC – NINA SHORES GANNON, 85, widow of William M. Gannon, died Saturday morning, May 7, 2016 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Tennessee, Nina was a daughter of the late Cortez and Vera Williams Shores. She lived in Aiken since 1952. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. Nina was a member of the Aiken Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Judith G. Boyd, Aiken; her son, Mike Gannon (Linda), Lexington, SC; five grandchildren, Tommy Hibbitts (Amy), Steve Hibbitts (Amy), Robbie Boyd (Tiffany), Jennifer Boyd Bootle (Michael) and Brooke Boyd; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Ann Tarpley (Robert), Murfreesboro, TN and a brother, Jack Shores, Murfreesboro, TN. In addition to her husband and parents, Nina was preceded in death by four siblings, Dorothy Mangum, Wilma VanPatton, Joe Shores and Charles Shores. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 7 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the funeral home.
