Russell E. Foster

AIKEN, SC – RUSSELL E. FOSTER, 85, beloved husband of Myrtle Harrison Foster, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Pepper Hill Nursing Home. A native of Newberry County, SC, Russell was a son of the late Otto and Cora Lee Spoon Foster.  He retired from the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant with 20 years of service.  He moved to Aiken 55 years ago and worked at Kimberly-Clark as Lab Supervisor, retiring after 20 years.  Russell was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and the American Legion.  After his retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the “Cabin” and the “Lake House”. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Myrtle; his daughter, Lynn Jackson (Ed), North Augusta; his granddaughter, Lyndsey Jackson, North Augusta and a sister, Dorothy Brewton, Orlando, FL. The family will receive friends Saturday morning, May 14 th beginning at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 11 o’clock.  The Rev. Charles Jenkins will officiate.  Interment will follow at 3 o’clock in Whitmire Cemetery, Whitmire, SC where he will be honored with full military rites.  The Rev. Ed Jackson will officiate.
