AIKEN – Mrs. Jewell Turk Fulghum, 88, died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Am Friday at Beech Island First Baptist Church with the Reverend Finley Limehouse officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
Mrs. Fulghum was born in Bishop, GA, a daughter of the late Cicero D. and Lavonia Deaton Turk. A resident of Aiken for the last eight years, she was a former resident of Beech Island and former member of Heights Baptist Church where she was very active in numerous church activities and leadership roles. She was also a top Avon sales representative for over 25 years.
Survivors include her sons, Milton L. (Paula) Fulghum, Jr., O’Fallon, MO; James D. Fulghum, Salley, SC, Charles K. (Sheri) Fulghum, Aiken; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Milton L. Fulghum, Sr., a daughter Doris “Dot” Gossett, granddaughter, Amy Church Johnson and seven brothers and sisters.
