AIKEN, SC - Ann M. Pepper, age 84, of Aiken, SC, loving wife of S.M. (Pep) Pepper for 65+ years, and daughter of the late Clarence and Estella Mitchell, entered into rest on July 9, 2016. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by three daughters; Susan Lisk (Buddy) of Charleston, SC, Sherri Pepper of Aiken, SC, Stacey Riddick (Allen) of Aiken, SC, 6 grandchildren - Bryan Austin, Paige Lisk, Tyler Lisk, Kim Weed (Jennison), Michael Riddick (Emily) and Kelley Riddick, and 6 great-grandchildren, Caroline, Noah, Micah, Elliott, Dylan and Isabelle, and a niece, Shelley Ackerman. Ann was born in Milford, Delaware, attended the University of Delaware, majoring in Education. She was a substitute teacher for a number of years. The family relocated to Orange, Texas where Ann was a hospital volunteer and acted in the community theater. Pep’s job with DuPont took them to Europe (Luxembourg and Germany) where they resided for 9+ years. They transferred to Aiken in 1972 for 2 years before moving to Pennsylvania, where she was a volunteer EMT with the West Grove (PA) Fire Department. Upon Pep’s retirement they moved back to Aiken, SC, where she became a Daughter of the King at St. Thaddeus. Besides being with her family, who was her pride and joy, she enjoyed bait shrimping, card games, cooking and the tranquility and wildlife at her lake home at Wexford Mill, Wagener. A memorial service and reception will be held 3 pm July 23, 2016 at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, Aiken, SC with the Rev. Grant Wiseman officiating. The family will receive friends in the Stevenson-McClelland building following the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations will be welcomed by Mead Hall School, 129 Pendleton, Aiken, SC 29801 and the AIKEN SPCA, 199 Willow Run Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
