AIKEN, SC - Ethel Mae Gladden Trent Lott O’Donnell, 88, of Aiken, SC, passed away on August 24, 2016 at her daughter’s home and is in the eternal hands of Jesus Christ. Ethel was born in Trinity, Texas on November 11, 1927. Her father was Willie Lee Gladden and her mother was Susie Cotton Gladden, both of Texas. Ethel’s daughter, Barbara Carol Trent Brown preceded her in death. Ethel was married to Frederick Cody Trent, LeRoy Lott and Edward O’Donnell. All three husbands are deceased.
Mrs. O’Donnell moved to Aiken, SC to be with her daughter, Beverly Trent Gambrell in 2007.
She had lived in Deer Park since 1958 and was a Sunday School teacher and a girl scout leader for her daughters. She was a wonderful, loving mother.
Mrs. O’Donnell worked as the personnel director of K-Mart on Spencer Highway in South Houston, Texas. She enjoyed bowling, crochet, embroidery and was an active member of the senior center in Deer Park. She attended Lifebridge Church in Deer Park.
The funeral service will be held at a future date at Grand View Memorial Park, Pasadena, Texas.
Ethel is survived by her daughter, Beverly Trent Gambrell (Reuben) Aiken, SC, her son, Dr. Robert Cody Trent (Joyce) of San Antonio, Texas, her grandchildren, Brian Craig Gambrell (Atlanta, GA), Brandon Keith Gambrell (Atlanta, GA), Matthew Brown (Kaydee) Delta, CO, Michael Frederick Cody Trent (Jesse), Mark Fielding Trent (Andrea), Paul Templeton Trent (Tara) and Harley Robert Timothy Trent, all of San Antonio, Texas. As well as her great-grandchildren, Josh Allen Watts, Tate John Brown and Trent Edward Brown of Colorado. Scott Lewis Trent and Catherine Renee Trent and Izan Enrique Trent all of San Antonio, TX.
The family of Ethel Mae O’Donnell wish to say a prayer of thanks to the staff of Pruitt Hospice in Aiken, SC as well as Trinity on Laurens, and Bee Well Services, also in Aiken.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to your local SPCA.
Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.
