John Wallace Hyder

AIKEN, SC – JOHN WALLACE HYDER, 88, beloved husband of Annette Hyder, died Monday, August 29, 2016 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Spartanburg, SC, John was a retired Command Sergeant Major in the United States Army, serving 23 years. He moved to Aiken 5 years ago from Colorado and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors, in addition to wife Annette, include five children, John S. Hyder (Suzanne), Aiken John W. Hyder, Jr. (Jeanne), Colorado, Sharon DeWild (Ernie) Borders, Colorado, Debra Witt, Colorado, Michael Hyder, Colorado; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening September 6th at 5 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home with full military honors.  The Rev. Dr. Henry L. Chennault will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to a favorite charity.
