AIKEN, SC – MRS. WILLIE MAE FILLINGIM MATHISON, 93, widow of Elias Taft Mathison, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at her residence. Born in Barbar County, AL, Mrs. Mathison was a daughter of the late William Robert and Annie Allen Fillingim. She was a homemaker and had lived in Aiken since 1992. She was a member of Charles Wesley United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Carey (Harriett) Mathison, Aiken, Douglas William (Judy)Mathison, Nashua, NH, four grandsons, Brian Mathison, Glenn Mathison, Kevin Mathison, all of Nashua, NH and Robbie Mathison of Aiken, seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Joshua, Magan, Amber and Natasha Mathison, all of Nashua, NH and Cameron and Anthony Mathison, both of Aiken, and a sister, Hilda Davis, Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Shellhouse Funeral Home, 924 Hayne Ave., Aiken, SC, with The Rev. Jim Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Buford Connelly, Tommy Carey, Roscoe Hightower, Tom Long, Frank Loudermilk and Tom Boone. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Charles Wesley United Methodist Church, 3510 Trolley Line Road, Aiken SC 29801.
