AIKEN – Mr. Jackie Lewis Cothran, 68, died Saturday, September 3, 2016 at his residence. Jackie was a loving son who was cherished by his mother and father. His great spirit touched the lives of all who met him. We rejoice that Jackie is now made whole in the presence of his Heavenly Father. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Steven Drawdy and the Reverend Dwayne Adcock officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Honorary pallbearers will be his caregivers. Jackie was born in Aiken, and son of Jalie Dicks Cothran, Aiken, and the late Jack L. Cothran. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents and uncle Ben Dicks. He is survived by his mother Jalie D. Cothran, Aiken, SC; aunt Frances Kitchings, Williston, SC; aunt Edna Morrell, Columbia, SC; aunt Ruth D. Scott, Aiken, SC; aunt Alene R. Dicks, Aiken, SC; aunt Carolyn (Sam) Ward, Traphill, NC; and a host of cousins and devoted caregivers.
