AIKEN, SC - DONALD E. “DON” ROBERTS, 84 of Aiken, SC, loving husband for 59 years to Betty C. Roberts and son of the late Henry Roberts and the late Mattie Roberts entered into eternal rest on Sunday October 16. 2016.      In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Donna (J.J.) Hughes and Cara (Mike) McRae; sons Chuck (Amy) Roberts and James (Kate) Roberts; one brother Gordon Roberts and two sisters Ione Stone and Marilyn Hand and nine wonderful grandchildren whom he adored.      He graduated from High School at 16 years of age and enlisted in the Air Force and served for 4 years in the Korean War. He retired after 34 years from L3 Communications in Sarasota, FL. and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He called Aiken home for the past 24 years and was a member at Millbrook Baptist Church.      He loved working in the yard with his flowers and garden and his favorite thing to do these last few years was to have breakfast at Auten's.      The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, October 18th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.      The funeral will be Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock at the funeral home with The Rev. Dr. Phillip Dunn officiating.       The graveside service will follow at 3 o’clock in the afternoon in Hazelhurst Memorial Cemetery, Hazelhurst, GA.  Pallbearers will be Mike McRae, J.J. Hughes, Dusty Hughes, D.J. Roberts, Garrett McRae and Chris Martin.      In lieu of flowers contributions can be made the Millbrook Baptist Church Building Fund, 223 South Aiken Blvd., Aiken, SC 29803.
