AIKEN - Mr. A.Y. Morgan, 89, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Medical College of Georgia. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM July 15 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville, TN. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM July 16 at Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel. with the Rev. Dr. David Cozad officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Mr. Morgan was born in Four Mile, KY, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Morgan. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a resident of Aiken since 1951, and was director of budget and finance for department of Energy at SRP and upon retirement, was serving as the assistant manager for administration.. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a Navy Veteran of WWII. Survivors include his beloved wife, Marjorie Putman Morgan; two step daughters, Charlene Denise Greenberg, Shelby, NC, Sharon Dawn (Pat) Roberts, Eutawville, SC; a son, Stephen (Sue) Morgan, St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Brandon Greenberg, Elise Greenberg and Lauren Roberts. He was preceded in death by his first wife Frances Harding Morgan. Memorials may be made to Aiken Mental Health, 117 Waterloo Street SW, Aiken, SC 29801.
