AIKEN - Ms. Linda "Kay" Whitt Scott, 61, answered God's call on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, and is now celebrating her eternal life with Jesus in Heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday at Lighthouse Baptist Church. Reverend Marion Britton and Reverend Mike Hallman will officiate. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be members of the Palmetto Ambulance Service.
Ms. Scott was born in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of the late Glenn and Frances Crowe Whitt. A lifelong resident of Aiken, she was a teacher's aide at S.C. Vocational Rehab. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, a member of the Ronnie Duncan Sunday School Class and an active member of the prison ministry at Lighthouse. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherri (Bud) Parker, Aiken; son, Johnny (Kim) Scott, Aiken; five grandchildren, Whitney Parker, Christopher Parker, Glenn Scott, Josh Tindal and Jay Snow; a sister, Geraldine Ashley, Aiken; two brothers, Ray (Brenda) Whitt, Jackson, Randy (Cindy) Whitt, Aiken; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Mary Usry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ira Dean Whitt.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Stahura and his staff, to Palmetto Ambulance, and the staff of Pepperhill Nursing Center.
