AIKEN - Loretta Rabon, 84, entered into eternal rest on November 2, 2016
A funeral service will be held at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 1:00 PM with the Reverend Bill Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ed Speed, Dan Clayton, Bob Moreno, John Burchalter, Harry Harmon, Mike Mobley, Houston Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be the Lydia Sunday School Class and the Sunshine Ladies.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Everett Rabon; two sons, Wallace (Darlene) Rabon, Rod (Paige) Rabon, both of Aiken; grandchildren, Phillip Vanino Bossler, Stephen Wallace (Morgan) Rabon, Michelle Denise Rabon, George (Lydia) Rabon, Elizabeth (Ben) Lindroth, William Everett Rabon, Charles Thomas Rabon, James Robert Rabon, Andrew Lackland Rabon, April Louise Coffman; great grandchildren, Lynwood Cloud Rabon and Ayden Coffman; a twin brother, Lloyd (Dot) Johnson; sisters Grace McMillan, Wilma (Billy) Silver, and Myrtle (Fred) Usselman, all of Charleston. Loretta is predeceased by her daughter, Patricia, granddaughter Rachel Coffman, her parents, John Quincy Johnson and Elnita Gore Johnson, a brother, J.Q. Johnson, and three sisters, Gene Thompson, Louise Smith, and Joan Smith.
Mrs. Rabon was born in the low country of South Carolina and lived in Horry County before attending and graduating from Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from the Savannah River Site medical department. Her long career as a registered nurse included Aiken County Hospital and Aiken Regional Medical Center. Loretta was a faithful member of Millbrook Baptist Church and she participated in the Sunshine Ladies Ministry.
