Warren Brian Whitson

AIKEN - Mr. Warren Brian Whitson, 65, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at First Baptist Church. Reverend Dr. Fred Andrea III will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery, Fairfax, SC at 3:00 PM. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Bornscheuer, Dr. John Bradley, Dr. Bill Gallman, Tom McCullough, Roy Mills, Ricky Montgomery, John Mullen, Kin Purvis, Bill Pearson, , Dusty Rhodes, Tom Young, Sr. and the Aiken Dove Club. Mr. Whitson was born in Charleston, SC, a son of Dorothy Elizabeth Dixon Whitson, Aiken, and the late Price Julian Whitson. He had been a resident of Aiken since 1971. He was a retired principal from Midland Valley High School and Silver Bluff High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Aiken Dove Club. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Jo Phillips Whitson; a daughter, Dr. Kelly (Dr. Jonas) McAlarney, Raleigh, NC; a son, Brian Carlton Whitson, Dallas, TX; a granddaughter, Haley Elizabeth McAlarney; a sister, Marta Joanne Fogle, Fairfax; a brother, Stanley Julian Whitson, Summerville, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.
