Betty Jane Dupee

AIKEN, SC – BETTY JANE DUPEE, 92, beloved mother of Don Dupee, died Sunday, November 27, 2016 in Athens, GA. A native of Columbia, AL, Betty was a daughter of the late George Ward Williams and Ninner C. Ethridge Williams. She graduated from Troy State Teachers College prior to moving to Panama City, FL to become a teacher in the Bay County FL Public Schools. She taught elementary, special education and remedial reading for 28 years. She moved to Aiken seven years ago to be near her son. Betty was a member of the Florida Retired Teachers Association, St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church and the St. Andrews Society of Aiken. Surviving is her son, Don of Aiken. A memorial service will be Saturday afternoon, December 3rd at 2 o’clock at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church with The Rev. Grant Wiseman officiating. A reception will follow in the Stevenson McClelland Building.
