Garrett Lee Galloway, 23, of Aiken, SC and formally of Monroe, VA passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 31st, 2016. Born on December 2nd, 1993 in Wilmington, NC, he was the son of George V Galloway and Greta S Galloway. In addition to his parents, Garrett is survived by his sister, Ashley Galloway of Johnson City, TN; grandmothers Jeanette Galloway and Gladys Stanley; aunts Kim Galloway and Sharon Owens; uncles Joey Galloway and Glenn Owens; cousins Kasey, Taylor, Jennifer, and Bryan; and several close friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richmond Galloway and Clyde Stanley. After graduating from Amherst County High School in 2012, Garrett attended Central Virginia Community College. Garrett enjoyed spending his time outside and loved hunting and fishing. He went on several fishing trips to Canada with his dad and enjoyed camping with his family. He was very active with Amherst County 4-H from a young age and enjoyed being a Teen Counselor with several of his close friends. As a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church youth group, he participated in multiple mission projects. Garrett’s biggest asset was his willingness to help others. Garrett was a devoted UNC Tar Heel fan. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 4th from 6 - 8pm at Whitten Monelison Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5th at 11am at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church, Madison Heights, VA with Dr. Derik Hamby officiating. Burial will be on Saturday, January 7th at 11am at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery in Supply, NC with Rev. Anthony Clemmons officiating.
