Baetj Miller

AIKEN, SC – WALTER BAETJER “BAETJ” MILLER, 91, beloved husband of Diane L. Miller, kept his appointment with the Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2009. A native of Baltimore, MD, Mr. Miller was a son of the late Sydney R. Miller, MD and Ella Wood Miller. He was a 2nd Lt. in the United States Air Force during World War II, and trained bomber pilots for combat. A longtime resident of Glendora, CA, Mr. Miller was a former elder and Sunday School teacher at Grace Baptist Church. He retired from the aerospace industry. He was an avid tennis player and golfer. His activities were curtailed by a stroke in 2004, but he still remained as active as he possibly could. He and his wife Diane moved to Aiken, SC in 2005. He was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church in Aiken. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Rachel K. Miller of Blue Lake, CA and Patricia Ann Hofmann of Orange, CA, two sons, Victor L. Miller of Tulsa, OK and Russell S. Miller of Hanahan, SC, two grandchildren, Dominic Miller and Jeremy Miller, and his first wife, Ruth Patterson Miller of Orange, CA. He was preceded in death by a son, Walter Baetjer Miller, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian mission organization, HCJB Global, P.O.
