Calvin Leroy Beck, Sr.

AIKEN, SC – CALVIN LEROY BECK, SR., 91, husband of the late Ruby Clarke Beck, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Calvin was a son of the late Olin Leonard and Lenora Barton Beck. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was the former owner of Calvin L. Beck Well Drilling and then became a consultant to his son at Beck Well Drilling.  He was a longtime member of the South Carolina Ground Water Association.  He was a member of Montmorenci First Baptist Church where he formerly served as a Deacon. Survivors include two sons; Calvin Leroy Beck, Jr. (Sharon), Marietta, GA and Louie Duane Beck, (Evelyn), Trenton, SC, seven grandchildren; Tammi Beck Frye (Brian), Shanna Beck Dover, Kristy Beck Royer (Jeremy), Heath David Beck (Amy), Kevin Duane Beck, Kaylee Beck Erdman (Ben) and Kara Beck Dye (Parker), eight great-grandchildren; John Calvin Frye, Shawn Dover, Ashley Dover, Sydney Frye, Aaron Calvin Royer, Nora Elizabeth Beck, Josephine Rose Beck, Benjamin Theodore Erdman; a sister, Eloise Crouch, North Augusta, SC. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son.   The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, January 25th from 6 until 8 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday morning, January 26th at 11 o’clock at the funeral home.  Interment will follow with military honors in Aiken Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Heath Beck, Kevin Beck, Ben Erdman, Brian Fry, Jeremy Royer, Bill Smith, John Calvin Frye, Parker Dye, and Shawn Dover.
