AIKEN, SC - Bonnie Mae Alba, 72, beloved wife of SGM Vincent Lee Alba, USA (Ret), died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.   A native of Hanford, CA, Bonnie married her high school sweetheart, Vince, following him during a 26-year US Army career, domestic and overseas. During that time, she also embarked on a career of service within the Department of Defense, serving our nation wherever her husband was stationed. While she was serving as the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Finance and Accounting, Vince retired and they relocated to Hanford, CA to care for aging family members. While there, Bonnie was employed in several positions at NAS Lemoore, CA.  After her long and distinguished career, Bonnie pursued her dream of free-lance writing.  For several years she provided researched opinion and commentary pieces about religion, politics, economics and life for many print and electronic media outlets.  Shortly before retiring, in her mid-40s, Bonnie came to believe in and love the Lord Jesus Christ.  She began to study the Bible and soon began to enthusiastically teach in her church and her home.  Her writing was infused and informed by her faith.  As she neared the end of this life, Bonnie trusted God fully to bring her triumphantly into His Kingdom, her true and eternal home.
