WINDSOR, SC – Mr. Richard Durwood Chapman, 69, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at his home surrounded by family. Richard was a lifelong resident of Windsor, son of the late Ralph D. Chapman and Ethleen Nunn Chapman Padgett. He was a retired dieselmechanic, and member of Windsor Baptist Church. He loved Nascar especially Dale Earnhardt (2/18/2001) He is survived by his daughters, Janet (Cameron aka Chad) Johnson, Aiken, Tracy (Bryan) Kneece, Graniteville; son, Ralph (Jennifer) Chapman, N. Augusta; eight grandchildren, Cayden Bonner, Bryson Bonner, Annsley Bonner, Clayton Johnson, Cody Kneece, Casey Kneece, Ethan Chapman, Faith Chapman; two nephews, Christopher Beard and Timmy Beard; a niece Karen (Marty) Bell, Aiken; a sister, Roma Jean (Jimmy) Hewitt, Graniteville; special friends Faye Hatcher and David William Golding. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, and the funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in the Windsor Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Buddy Davis, Paul Scott, Eugene Strawbridge, Don McGee, Johnny Kitchings,Cameron Johnson. Memorials may be directed to a charity of choice The family would like to give a special thanks to Encompass Hospice nurses JaVista Thomas and "Nurse" Stallings, his special caregivers Christopher Beard and Janet Johnson, and the Aiken Regional Emergency Department and Doctors.
