AIKEN, SC – MSGT EUGENE ROBERT LEIGH, USAF (Ret.), died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Augusta, GA. A native of Red Granite, WI, Bob was a son of the late Paul and Edith Coville Leigh. He served in the Seabees during World War II and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served in Vietnam and retired as Master Sergeant. He moved to Aiken 8 years ago from Colorado. Survivors include his beloved wife, Flora Lucero Leigh; children, Dennis Leigh, Colorado, Dianne Espey, Rock Hill, SC; step-children, John E. Maldonado (Donna), Aiken, SC, Tommy Maldonado, Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren, Jenifer Maldonado, Brandon Wojtecki, Tara Vinson, Brigette Maldonado, Dominique Maldonado, Gabriella Amella; a number of great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kay Weller and Bernadine Bahn, both of Wisconsin; two brothers, Paul Leigh (Ann), Florida, Dennis Leigh (Netsy), Tennessee and four sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Leigh and a brother, Ray Leigh. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held Saturday afternoon, March 4th at 2 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home with military honors accorded by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
