Silas Oliver Lambert, Jr.

Silas (Si) Oliver Lambert, Jr., 86 died peacefully surrounded by family and caring staff at Pruitt Healthcare on Thursday, February 23, 2017.      Si was born on September 14, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His late parents were Silas Oliver Sr. and Agnes (Tillberg) Lambert. He married Joanne Caroline Smith on March 20, 1954 in Robbinsdale, MN and they were inseparable for almost 62 years. Si served in the Army during the Korean War, was paid to chase high altitude balloons (pre NASA), served as a Tennant Company field service mechanic, and worked on many mission trips in his retirement.  Si was known for his quirky sense of humor, the fact that he was always present to support his family and friends, and his love for food and fellowship.      Survivors include wife Jo, children Pat (Ken) Ritter of Lexington Park, MD, Dave (Andrea) Lambert of Roberts, WI, Dan (Nancy) Lambert of Aiken, Barb (Mike) Nowak of Jenison, MI, grandchildren, Heather Hamlin, Scott Lambert, Dianna Mascarenas, Steve Lambert, Chris Hamlin, Jeremy Ritter, Tiffany Shreve, Jennifer Hamlin, Diane Ritter, Mike Lambert, Nicole Nowak, Eric Lambert, Kam Tyler, Rebecca Nowak and 11 great grandchildren. Si was preceded in death by sisters Muriel Baglo and Bernice Tichy, brother Vernon Lambert as well as daughter Linda (surviving husband Dan Hamlin).      A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 4 at St Paul Lutheran Church, 961 Trail Ridge Dr, Aiken, SC with Pastor Jeff Erbskorn officiating and Pastor Andrea Bates supporting.       Special thanks to Si’s wonderful friends, his church family, his Stephen Minister, the staff and volunteers at ACTS, Korean War Veterans Association, Mended Hearts, and the staff at Pruitt Healthcare/Pruitt Hospice.
