AIKEN, SC – WILLIAM H. TAYLOR, 98, husband of the late Dorothy Elizabeth Edwards Taylor, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at his residence. A native of Greer, SC. William was a son of the late Washington Lee and Lillian Maude Byrd Taylor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an electrician, having worked with Western Electric and E. I. DuPont. He retired from the Savannah River Plant after 28 years of service. He was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church and was formerly active with the Millbrook Whittlers. He was a member of the Aiken Masonic Lodge # 156. Survivors include two sons, Michael W. Taylor (Sharon), Seattle, WA, Stephen D. Taylor (Cindy), Charleston, SC; a granddaughter, Jessica Taylor, Anchorage, AK; step-grandchildren, Tammy McIntosh (R.J.), Snohomish, WA, Barry Fretwell, Kent, WA; three step-grandchildren, Caleb, Lauriel and Mathew Leachman. The family will receive friends Saturday morning, March 11th beginning at 10 o’clock at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 11 o’clock with The Rev. Cathy Cole officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Millbrook Whittlers, 223 South Aiken Blvd., SW, Aiken, SC 29803.
