Shelley Johnston

AIKEN, SC – SHELLEY JO JOHNSTON, 54, beloved wife of Robert H. “Bob” Johnston, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at her residence. Born in New Castle, IN, Shelley grew up in Indiana and Illinois.  She had lived in Aiken since 1995 and was a corporate officer of Armstrong and Johnston Fire Protection, Inc.  She was a veterinarian technician and was a former volunteer with Equine Rescue of Aiken.  Her hobbies included pottery and photography.  Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Bob; two sons, Jason Johnston (Claire), Aiken, Jamie Johnston (Rachael), Washington, DC; grandchildren, Caroline and Henry; her mother, Sondra Tirey, Indianapolis, IN; her father, Daniel Tirey, Metropolis, IL; two brothers, Chuck Tirey (Debra), Brookport, IL and Scott Tirey, Marion, IL. A private Celebration of Shelley’s life will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
