Moses Brown, Sr.

October 3, 1949 — March 18, 2017

AIKEN - Moses Brown, Sr. was born October 3, 1949 in Barnwell County, South Carolina to the late Jim and Edith Brown.  He departed this life on March 18, 2017.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.    He received part of his education from Guinyard Butler in Barnwell, SC.  After leaving school after the 6th grade he went to work and later joined the Army where he finished up his education.  He served in the US Army from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War and received the following medals: Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.  Moses worked as a supervisor for ARA and Food Service Inc. and ran his personal company, E & M cleaning until he retired in 1997, due to his illness. He leaves to cherish his sweet memories: His loving wife, Edna Brown; His children: Jesse Luke and Regina Carter of Richmond, Virginia, Rochelle Goodwin of Columbia, SC, Andrea (Michael) Harris of Augusta, GA, Kimberly (Christopher) Creech of Aiken, SC, Jennifer Brown of Smyrna, GA, and Moses (Jennifer) Brown of Aiken, SC.  16 Grandchildren: Diamond Legrande, Kenneth Johnson, Jacquez Luke, Keondra Cousins, Semaj Luke, Garrick Fitzgerald II, Breunna Johnson, Zariah Johnson, Christopher Creech, Jr., Jeremiah Creech, Miracle Creech, Mychil Harris, Joshua Harris, Jacob Harris, Brayden Brown, and Markell Coles and 2 great grands; 3 brothers, 6 sisters and a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and relatives. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at SHELLHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 924 HAYNE AVE., AIKEN, SC 29801.  To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Moses Brown, Sr., please visit our flower store.
