New Ellenton - John Robert Black, 79, died Sept. 5 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Southlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Carter and Rev. Bryan Brantley officiating. Mr. Black was born in Gaffney, SC to the late Joseph Carlisle and Mildred Kirby Black. He was a retired supervisor with E I DuPont, SRP and also worked with Blair Air Conditioner. He was a Army Veteran of Korea War. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Hall Black, and beloved children, Lisa Black (Gary) Miller, Aiken, Joe K. Black, New Ellenton, Fil (Susan) Martinez, Signal Mountain, TN and Tony (Becky) Martinez, Chattanooga, TN. Grandchildren, Annabelle Black, Natalie Miller Johnson, Allison Miller Cooper, Whitney Miller, Tyler Martinez, Allyson Martinez, Brandon Martinez, Trevor Martinez; grandchild, Kyle Johnson; sisters, Louise Carson, Gaffney, SC and Mary Lewis, Leesville, SC. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rachael Black. Pallbearers will be Joe Lewis, John Lewis, Robert Lewis, Robert Kirby, Fil Martinez and Tony Martinez.
