AIKEN, SC – MARSHALL BLAINE "MAC" McCORMICK, Jr., 87, beloved husband of Martha Ann Moseley McCormick, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of New Bern, TN, Mac was a son of the late Marshall B and Susie Thomas McCormick. He served as a TSgt. in the United States Army during World War II and entered Normandy as part of the fourth wave. He was wounded at St.-Lo and was awarded a Purple Heart. Mac had lived in Aiken for 46 years. He was a retired horse trainer and banker, and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors, in addition to his beloved wife Martha, include a daughter, Marsha M. (Doug) Daniel, Carrollton, GA, a son, M. Blaine (Kay) McCormick III, Orlando, FL, a step-son, Hilton (Beata) Lesesne, Huntsville, AL, three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
