Aiken-Mr. Leslie Herman Boland, Jr. died Sept. 23, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Am Saturday in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Kirk and Rev. Steve Gillette officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens with US Marine Corps Honors and Sons of Confederate Re-enactors Color Guard. Pallbearers will be Eddie Raines, Mike Ridgeway, Ken Temples, Joel Britton, Kenny Teuton and Martin Coffey. Honorary pallbearers will be Sons of Confederate Veterans. Mr. Boland was born in Williston, SC to the late Leslie H. and Gladys Reese Boland. He was a retired Rigger with EI DuPont, SRP, a Marine Combat Veteran of WWII, member of Sons of Confederate Veterans and was a Confederate Re-enactor. He is survived by his loving wife, Jewell Redd Boland; beloved son, Lee Howard (Jocelyn) Boland, Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Tyler Boland, Dane Boland , John Paul Goddard; step children, Lynn (Mel) Parrish, Grovetown, GA, Piney Hamilton, Augusta; grandchildren, Ben Parrish and Robert Hopkins; great grandchildren, Bryson Hopkins and Maddie Goddard; sisters, Vera Roukos, Columbia, SC and Jimmie Sutphin, Newberry, SC. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Cushman Boland; a daughter, Jo Dell Goddard and a son Leslie H. Boland, III.
