Marie Evans Warren

AIKEN, SC – MARIE EVANS WARREN, 74, beloved wife of James C. Warren, Jr., died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Millinocket, ME, Mrs. Warren was a daughter of the late Peter and Marguerite McGinn Evans. She moved to Aiken from Summerville, SC in 1973, and was a homemaker and a member of the Aiken Church of Christ. Marie was a longtime volunteer coordinator for the Aiken Area Council on Aging Meals on Wheels. Marie was a loving wife, mother , grandmother and friend. She was known for her sense of humor, love for those in need, and transparency to those around her. Her commitment to God, her husband, her children and her grandchildren was unwavering. Survivors, in addition to her husband James, include two daughters; Cynthia Warren, Belmont, NC and Linda (Ron) Wykel, Aiken, two sons; James B. (Jennifer) Warren, Duluth, GA and Kevin (Danielle) Warren, Conway, AR, seven grandchildren; Matt and Andy Wykel, Emily Gramling, Lisa Warren, Winston and Wyatt Strawn and Luke Warren, a sister, Geraldine Cunningham, Coventry, CT and a brother, Lester Evans, Las Vegas, NV. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM at the Aiken Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC.
