AIKEN, SC- MRS. MARIE D. PRIESTER, 91, of Aiken, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Johns United Methodist Church with the Reverends Dr. George K. Howle and Keith Stewart officiating. Internment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Frank Riechart, H.A. Barrow, Herbie Barrow, Vernon Derrick, Steve Piper, Christopher N. Scott and Austin D. Scott Mrs. Priester was a native of Statesboro, Georgia. She was a former employee with the Panama Canal Commission in buying and merchandising from 1940 to 1965, then retiring to Aiken. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Womens Circle # 7, the quilting fellowship, and The Order Of Eastern Star Orchid chapter1, Balboa Republic of Panama. Survivors include one son Douglas M.(Ruth)Priester of Yemassee, SC, two grand daughters, Laura P. Scott of Columbia, SC, and Rachel P. Rister (David) of Chapin, SC. A grand son, Brent Branham (Jamie)of Raleigh, NC. Three great grand children, Christopher M. Scott, Austin D. Scott and Autumn M. Scott of Columbia, SC. One Niece, Annette B. Munson of TX, and a nephew, H. A.(Jeri)Barrow, Of Florence, SC. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC 29803.
