AIKEN - Mr. David Kouichi Tarasawa, 73, died Monday, October 19, 2009.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Fred Andrea III officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parlor.
Mr. Tarasawa was born in Honolulu, HI., a son of the late Take and June Kayan Suzuki Tarasawa. He retired a Master Sergeant from the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a resident of Aiken for the last 20 years, and was an electrical engineer at SRP. He loved golf and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Donna Lynn Myers Tarasawa; two daughters, Emi (James) Good of Arizona, Brenda Lynn (Josh) Norbeck-Ford, Atlanta, GA; four sons, Dennis Labor, Tucson, AZ, Curtis (Jeannie) Labor of Alabama, Kelly Tarasawa, Denver, CO, Jerry (Pat) Raines, Troy, MO; five grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Tarasawa of Hawaii.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Tarasawa, and a brother, James Tarasawa.
