AIKEN - Mr. Nathan Joseph Cook, 84, died Friday, October 23, 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Corinth Baptist Church. Reverend Brancie Stephens and Reverend Kirby Bunton will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Cook was born in Bamberg, SC, a son of the late N.H. and Mary Warren. He retired from the US Army with the rank of Sergeant Major, having served as a medic in WWII and Korea. He and his wife were residents of Aiken since 1965, and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge 156, the Shriners, and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Annie Ruth Rearden Cook; two daughters, Beverly (James) Cagle, Aiken, Terry (Randy) Wilson, Aiken; a son, Mark Travis (Pam) Cook, Aiken; two grandchildren, Brendon Kenneth Wilson and Hunter Christian Wilson; a sister, Beaulah Cheek, Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Carl (Clarice) Cook, Johnny Cook, both of Bamberg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Cook.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Corinth Baptist Church Building Fund, 805 S. Main St., New Ellenton, SC 29809.
