Violet Evans Martin

AIKEN, SC- VIOLET EVANS MARTIN, 69, loving wife of Bobby B. Martin, died Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Mrs. Martin was a native of Florence County, South Carolina. She was a daughter of the late Johnny and Roxie Yarborough Evans. She was a Registered Nurse specializing in home health care and was a member of Christ Way Christian Church. In the last years of her life Mrs. Martin had become very close to the Lord and greatly enjoyed reading her Bible and began to study it. Mrs. Martin was very dedicated to her family, and loved her cats, flowers and working in the yard. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Donna (Col. Richard W.) Regan, Hevelock, NC, Tammy (Ronnie) Clark, Aiken, SC; four grandchildren, Thomas (Elizabeth) Spence, Christa Winburn, Spc. Jacob (Lauren) Winburn, US Army, and Jonathan Scott; three great grandchildren, Caroline Spence, Addison Spence, and Noah Turner; three sisters, Vebra Bolen, Windsor, SC, Roxie (Elmer) Fuller, Pelion, SC, Zula Craven; Summerville, SC; one brother, Danny (Frances) Evans, Effingham, SC. Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 16, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Lucas, Tom Spence, Jonathan Scott, Mark Redd, Chuck Redd, and Tim Johnston.
