AIKEN, SC- Claude Franklin Cook, 84, beloved husband of Myrtle Franklin Cook, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Harbor Chase of Aiken.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Millbrook Baptist Church with The Reverends Dr. Eddie Leopard, Dr. Charles Masters and David Revelle officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Anderson, SC. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6-8 PM at Shellhouse-Rivers
Funeral Home.
A native of Seneca, SC Mr. Cook was the son of the late Lucious and Annie Pearl Fulford Cook. He proudly served in the Army and Navy during WWII. Mr. Cook attended Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base and earned his master’s degree from Auburn University. He was a retired senior executive with the Federal Aviation Administration. His career took him many places, from Washington, DC., to Atlanta, then Oklahoma City where he later retired. He was an ordained Baptist minister, and he taught the Millbrook Men’s Sunday School Class for many years.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Myrtle include, a daughter Claudia (James Eaves, M.D.) Eaves, Anchorage, AK; a son Donald Edwin (Melissa) Cook, Memphis, TN; six grandchildren, Christopher Eaves, Erin Ulmer, Heather Call, Claudia Annette Becker, Claude Donald Cook, and Katie Parker; and a sister, Mary Wilson, Anderson, SC.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Claude Cook Sunday School Class and the Chapel Sunday School Class of Millbrook Baptist Church.
