Bernice Prater Ussery

AIKEN, SC- Bernice Prater Ussery, 61, beloved wife of Henry Wayne Ussery, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Mrs. Ussery was the daughter to the late David Hoke and Mary Stephens Prater. She was an office manager for over twenty years for the SC Highway Department. She also worked for Enloe Residential for ten years. She was active in Helping Hands, the South Aiken High School Booster Club. She dedicated her last two years taking care of her terminaly ill mother-in-law “Nana”. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband, Henry Wayne Ussery; a son Troy (Leslye) Ussery, North Augusta; grandchildren, Katelyn Henderson, Hunter Ussery; and a brother, Robert (Kathy) Prater, Ocala, FL; a niece, Stacy Hanson, Aiken and a nephew, David Prater, Ocala, FL. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23 at 3:00 PM in the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kirby Bunton officiating. Interment will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tab Moore, Brad Moore, Kevin Moore, Harold Key, Darren Watkins and Morris Deason.
