AIKEN, SC – ELIZABETH HERNDON BROWN, 87, widow of Olney Lane Brown, Jr., died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A native of Savannah, GA, Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Thomas Matthew and Gordy Stewart Herndon. She had lived in Aiken since 1953 and was a charter member of the Aiken First Christian Church. She was a retired LPN and worked at the old Aiken Hospital and for Dr. James Bland. Mrs. Brown was an avid reader and bridge player and loved gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Brown (Lehman, Sr.) Mincey, Aiken and Carole Brown (Larry, Sr.) Fowler, Aiken, a son, O. Lane Brown, III, Aiken, five grandchildren, Melanie Clifton, Lehman Mincey, Jr., Melissa Landing, L. Furman Fowler, Jr., and Skipper Fowler, nine great-grandchildren, Chahra Mincey, James Landing, III, Shaiy-Ann Landing, Raymond Billings, Jr., Mackenzie Clifton, Nicolas Mincey, Madison Mincey, Parker Clifton and Lehman Mincey, III and two great-great-grandchildren, Chasytee Price and Kevin Price, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Shellhouse – Rivers Funeral Home.
