Laura Clinton Whitfield

Aiken-Laura C. Whitfield, 51, passed away February 23rd. She was the beloved daughter of Deanna and Brooks Whitfield of Aiken. She was born in San Francisco, CA and became a dancer with the San Francisco Ballet Co. when a teenager. She graduated from Principia College, Elsah, IL where she was involved with their Dance Programmed productions. She earned a Master's Degree in the Performing Arts from American University in Washington D.C. and then lived and worked in Austin, TX for many years before moving to Aiken. She leaves a sister, Audrey MacKenzie, brother in law Jim Mackenzie, a niece Lizzie, nephew Gavin, and a brother , Robert Whitfield, who live in West Linn, OR. A private memorial service will be held at the Whitfield home on Saturday Feb 27th.
